Welding a flange square is a fight. Clamp it to the bench and you're welding one side, breaking it loose, flipping it, re-clamping, and hoping it didn't move. Tack it freehand and you're chasing warp and hoping the purge held. Either way you're fighting the part instead of laying a bead.

The Brockett Built Flange Welding Fixture ends that. It mounts straight to your welding positioner, locks the flange dead square, and back-purges it from the inside — so you spin the part under the torch and lay one clean, continuous, sugar-free weld all the way around. One setup. No flipping. No guessing on the purge.

Why this one is different

• Purge is built in, not rigged up. Dual 1/8"-27 NPT ports (bottom and side) feed shielding gas right into the joint. No taping tinfoil over the back, no shoving a rag in the tube — the fixture is the purge dam. Clean, silver, oxide-free backside every time.
• Holds it square under heat. CNC-machined from 6061-T6 billet aluminum so it doesn't flex or walk when the part gets hot. The flange stays where you set it — the whole point.
• Laser-etched alignment grid. Center and square a flange by eye in seconds off the etched markings. No dial indicator, no fussing.
• Fits the flanges you actually run. Designed around StainlessBros dimensions so their flanges drop right in — and the 1/4"-20 holes have enough clearance to swallow the tolerance slop on off-brand flanges too.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it actually purge, or do I still need a separate dam?
It purges. The dual NPT ports feed gas straight into the flange from the fixture body, so the joint is back-purged as you weld — no tinfoil, no soluble dam, no separate purge plug for standard flange work.

Will it fit off-brand flanges or only StainlessBros?
Both. It's dimensioned around StainlessBros so those drop in perfectly, and the mounting holes have clearance built in to handle the looser tolerances on most other flanges on the market.

What positioner does it mount to?
Standard rotary welding positioners with a 3-jaw chuck — the same setup the Tube Fixture runs on.

Do I need the V-band adapters?
Only if you weld V-band flanges. The fixture handles 2-bolt, 3-bolt, and turbo flanges on its own. Add the V-band adapters to cover 2.5"–4" V-bands — and each one ships with a StainlessBros fit-up clamp.
